Quality Care

Alexandra House Support Services believes that an adaptable staff team are the key to quality care. Our staff are trained to the highest standards to provide the care and support individuals deserve. Alexandra house is registered with CIW (Care Inspectorate Wales), the recognised governing body for care providers in Wales.

 

Quality is part of our daily practice. We pride ourselves on delivering not just an exceptional service, but a compassionate service. Alexandra House defines “quality” as delivering a service with dignity, respect, choice and kindness and to ensure that the care we provide is appropriate to the needs of those who use our services. All of our policies and work practices are reviewed at least annually to ensure that we continue to maintain our standards.

 

Staff Training

All Support Workers who are successful in their application to work for Alexandra House are carefully selected to ensure that they have the qualities to be adaptable and provide the best support we can offer.  Successful candidates are required to complete an intensive induction process and are DBS checked at an enhanced level. Our ethos is based on respecting and promoting the well-being of our clients, which our staff are strictly required to uphold. All staff members also undergo further training throughout their employment to remain above industry standards.

 

Mandatory training includes:

  • Fire Safety

  • Electrical Safety

  • Epilepsy

  • Buccal Midazolam

  • Moving & Handling

  • First Aid

  • Food Safety Awareness

  • DoLS (Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards)

  • Medication

  • SOVA (Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults)

  • Working in a person-centred way

 

The team are also trained in peg feeding and diabetes glucose monitoring.
