Respite Service

Alexandra House offers planned and emergency overnight respite and day services for adults with a range of learning and physical disabilities. Our respite service is registered to provide overnight respite care for up to 4 adults aged 18 years and over. Respite care arrangements could be for a period of 24 hours or more, depending on personal requirements and funding arrangements.

At Alexandra House, respite care is not just about providing a break for the main carer and the individual with the disability. It’s also about enabling both to enjoy their breaks from each other, guilt-free.

Whether it’s for respite, day or overnight services, those who come to us are first and foremost made to feel at home. We engage our guests with a range of activities, both indoor and outdoor. To make learning fun and exciting, we utilise a variety of creative methods to teach life skills as well as enhancing reading and numeracy skills.

Emergency respite admissions are accepted based on the needs of the individual and the service's capacity to effectively meet the needs of the individual within the remit of our registration.

If you require an emergency respite service, please contact us on 01745 889179 / 07786326302.

Day Service

The Day service at Alexandra House can either be one-to-one or in a group environment, depending on the individual’s needs.

One-to-one Support

We offer one-to-one support for those individuals who require more hands-on support due to their needs or limited mobility. As this is tailored to the individual, this service is separately priced and can be agreed when organising the care package.

None One-to-one

None one-to-one support is classed as group support and this is also based on the individual's assessed needs. None one-to-one hours are from 10:00am to 16:30pm 7 days a week and is available at a flat day-rate. We do not however restrict individuals to these set times as we understand that sometimes additional hours may be required - any additional hours requested is charged at a flat hourly rate.

We provide hot meals daily and this is inclusive in the fees charged for day services.

Getting to know sessions

As an introduction to our day and respite services, we offer prospective clients 2 free 2 hours 'getting to know' sessions and we encourage individuals to take advantage of these sessions as they allow you to become familiar with the setting and members of the staff team.

Domiciliary Services

Care and Support in Your Own Home

At Alexandra House, we are conscientious about the quality of support we offer to those who wish to remain in their own home. Our domiciliary support offers a range of services, from personal care and housekeeping to helping clients get out and about and offering companionship. Our support staff become an integral part of our clients’ lives, being that reliable person they can trust and look forward to seeing.

Our domiciliary services can range from as little as one hour per week, to 24/7 live-in care. The package we create will be tailored to your needs.

Full Assessment

Alexandra House conducts a full assessment of the individual’s needs with contribution from them and their family. We believe that the person and their close support networks are better placed to inform our assessments about the things that are important to them.  This enables us to put together a detailed care package, which is shared with the client and any family/other they wish for us to share such information with for verification and agreement. We also complete needs and risk assessments, which are amended as necessary at each visit to reflect any changes in your circumstances. We endeavour to work in partnership with the individual, their families and other professionals who support them to achieve positive outcomes for our clients.

Call or email our experienced and friendly team today to discuss our domiciliary support service.
